Why No Pepperoni In Buenos Aires?

Inquiring yanquis always want to know why, in this great pizza town, is there no pepperoni?

The NYT reports today that, even in the "artisanal" pizza joints springing-up all over the US, "by far America’s most popular pizza topping" is not on the menu there either!

Turns out, pepperoni ain´t Italian.  Sad day, paisanos. Looks like it´s German! Ach, du meine puta!

Evidence: no smoked sausages in Italy ...and no beef ones, neither.

Good read!  Here´s the link.

Somebody could make a fortune here selling nothing but pepperoni pizzas to the yanquis!

Oh my friend, you can find pepperoni here in BA...you just have a smaller number of options.

Here's a BA Pizza review I did a few months ago on my food & travel site, http://foodsherpas.com in the BA section. I just highlighted a few places for those who prefer something different than the Argie style pizza:

"Pizza in Buenos Aires...with Pepperoni"
