Tonight, my missus and I got to put some faces to names. Together with Wanda from Walla Walla and her husband John ...and her father Richard, a former cattle rancher who hails from North Dakota ...kicked the ass out of some great food and libation at Alan Epstein´s The Office in Las Cañitas.
We sat on Alan´s famous rooftop and enjoyed the evening air in true Buenos Aires style. If you haven´t yet been there, you really don´t know the meaning of "laid-back expat hangout" ...not to mention the very best burgers in Buenos Aires.
Alan´s got a new bartender, Sandy from Australia, who has imported some great specialities ...such as the Vodka Lemon Bitters. Splendid! That drink is a contender for the Official Cocktail of Summer 2012. Don´t take my word for it. Get there and try one for yourself! Fizzy, lemony-limey, icy, and with the expert´s touch of bitters to balance it all. That drink is worth the trip.
Of course, if you don´t have good company, nothing is just quite right.
Wanda, John, and Richard made it all great. They challenged Argentine Customs to bring me some very special herb and vegetable seeds ...the fruit of which you might be enjoying next year.
