They´re laughing at us.

Under today's headline: "Argentina - Great news on Hilton Quota except we have no beef !", the trade publication, Meat Trade News Daily reports,

"The Commissioner also met Foreign Minister Héctor Timerman, with whom he confirmed a higher Hilton beef quota for Argentina among other topics. The addition of 2,000 more tons of beef to Argentina’s Hilton quota of 28,000 tons in compensation for the 2007 EU accession of Bulgarian and Romania was confirmed with  1,500 more to follow as from 2012 (as well as 200 tons of buffalo meat)."

...for about 100 years, just the mention of Argentine beef production could strike fear in the hearts of every beef exporting nation ...now, they crack jokes.

They say that God created whiskey in order to keep the Irish from ruling the world.  Some people say that the Hilton Quota was created for the Argentines.
