Of course, the fact that Buenos Aires became affordable in 2001 ...for the first time in a century ...was a big part of anyone's decision to expatriate here. However, "frugality" is suddenly back on the marquee in a big way all over the world.Buenos Aires is no longer an exception. Budget Buenos Aires is reflecting a trend toward living within one's means that you can find in any publication from anywhere in the world right now.
The author, American Expat, is a relatively recent arrival and she is billed out and bound to roll on taking up the post of your source for saving some scratch in this time of rising prices ...and falling remittances from back home. In my experience, hanging out with Argentines is the best way to save money. Whenever I have a night out with local friends I end up spending a fraction of what I do when I hang out with expats.

An ol' guy told me when I first got here, "kid, you can't do anything in BsAs without a friend."
