So much to love ...all courtesy of everybody's favorite local newspaper, The Argentina Independent!
Get ready fans of artisanal tastiness! This Friday is the second installment of The B.A. Underground Market. The last one was in July and was the inspiration for my Expat Eats. The whole thing went-off without a hitch ...other than hundreds of people all wanting more than they could possibly cram in their pie holes (Oh! The pie!)
Full disclosure: I've never attended an event in Buenos Aires that I enjoyed more or that impressed me more.
I think I stopped counting food booths at around 25 ...everything from BBQ brisket to hand-made chocolates to pickles to cookies to sauerkraut to craft beer to goat cheeses to hot sauces to pecan pies to beef jerky to cake pops to spring rolls to juices and smoothies and yogurt and more. Around 700 people grazed comfortably in the huge space at IMPA-La Fábrica on what was the coldest day of the year. Now that the weather is turning springy, I´m sure we can expect more of everything.
Another thing that really impressed me was The Indy's choice of venue. Long time readers know that Almagro is my favorite barrio ...and IMPA-La Fábrica is a building that will fascinate. Three cheers for The Argentina Independent for recognizing that expats have expanded beyond our borders of 10 years ago!
Easy access from all parts of town and walking distance from TWO subte stops. |
If you missed the last one ...and not many people did ...you really truly owe it to yourself to get your act together and show up this Saturday.
Not enough? How's 'bout HALF PRICE TICKETS! Instead of 10 pesos per person ...get your tickets for only FIVE pesos each (kids up to 12 years old are free.)
Just drop a line to events@argentinaindependent.com and tell 'em Yanqui Mike sent ya!
