More than getting my "Union Suit" from California reader, Tom... Drinking Liberally was a blast tonight! Thank you, Tommy! Although the weather has warmed recently, I can assure you that it will stand me in good stead next year if not for the rest of these chilly days and nights. As always, our hard core of regulars were there to greet the newcomers that always show up.
What a great crowd! Among our visitors were a great number of other Californios! Ed and Megan got my personal San Expedito del Bolsillo ...to ward off any traffic accidents on their road trip to the back of beyond of our fair República ...I´m hoping to get that back next Monday at Drinking Liberally and I wish them so very well.
Before anything got going, Alan Seabright and Frank Almeida and I sat down for an impromptu "Quaffers" of five lovely British beers! Details of the tasting to follow ...but suffice it to say that those malty beverages ranged from wonderful to splendid!
The star of the show, however, had to be either Larry Rogers and/or his hand-crafted salsas picantes! Just one little tortilla chip into one of his three levels of hotness ...let you know that the maker is a master and really cares as to what goes in his jars. This guy really cares about his house recipe! He takes time and care to make sure that the really complex flavors come through. He´s the master of the peppa!
Larry´s El Tejano Salsa really impressed ..and it kept the house coming with more bowls of tortilla chips! Fred Badagnani, my DL co-host, has been a long-time customer of the salsa ...and now the word it really getting out! Gitcha some! Contact El Tejano directly ...or just show up at the next Drinking Liberally Buenos Aires. I bought 4 jars ...one for me and 3 for my missus!
Great to see Jed of LandingpadBA, Frank Almeida of Sugar and Spice as well as Artist Jamye and Sculptor Dave. The grand old man of Buenos Aires expatriatism, Bill Hammond anchored us all with his take on the proceedings. Another splendid evening at Drinking Liberally Buenos Aires!
If you don´t know about this great international drinking society, please take a look at our DL Intl site ...and more specifically, our BsAs site: www.drinkingliberally.com.ar ...there´s no easier place to meet in all of Buenos Aires!
Stop by for a drink next Monday! See you there!
