With our little escarapelas attached, bathed in the lovely light of yesterday's afternoon, we forayed into la manzana de las luces with the wonderful Dave and Jamye of Studiodio and visited the Museo de la Ciudad. Great place for weekends and holidays here in microcentro.
Afterwards, in tribute to this great nation of immigrants, we visited the treemendous Croatian restaurant in San Telmo, Dobar Tek.
Ah, my friends ...and oh, my foes ...I ate like a total pig and everyone seemed to be very interested in keeping up with me!
Speaking of pigs, the magical animal was well represented. Smoked and unsmoked pork seemed to be available in almost every dish ...other than the finale of apple strudel. It has been years since I last ate so much at one sitting. Accompanied with a copious quantity of Antares beer and the lovely sun in the chilly air, it was truly a repast to remember.
I ordered a plato of smoked pork ribs and sauerkraut and a cabbage roll. Exquisito. Others sampled of the strudels filled with meat and ricotta and spinach soufflé.
Not everyone loves good central-European fare like I do... but if you do, Dobar Tek is the place to go.
Please to groove to food fotos below ...and happy third century of Argentine independence and the end of colonialism in South America!

Thanks for the good wishes! And yum, yum, pork! It seems you had a nice day with good food and good company ;-).
Miki! Is that you? Ay, que lindo escuchar de vos! It was a truly splendid afternoon at Dobar Tek with you and your family.
Śmacznego! (Dobar Tek en polaco)
Mike
I forgot to mention the Krakovia sausage appetizer! So buttery and creamy and smoky. No one should pass that up!
We did have a wonderful day, including the asado with the cousins.
I have to try Dobar Tek!
It is a wonderful joint! Everything was so flavorful. I hope to see you there sometime, Mike
