Judge Mini-Bios: Pete Howell, 1st Annual Buenos Aires Chili Cookoff
I was born and raised in Chicago, but did not get a taste for the hot stuff until moving to Albuquerque where pizza with green chilies was as common as pepperoni pizza. Since then, it's hard to get food that is hot enough for my tastes, although I generally stop at habanero peppers. My favorite foods are Thai panang beef (hot variety) followed by most Indian curry dishes. As far as chili, I've had many varieties over the years and personally prefer them hot, yet flavorful. I'm certainly looking forward to trying some great chili this weekend.
