Big Talk at Drinking Liberally Tonight

Chicago Dems among us tonight at Drinking Liberally Buenos Aires...and others there, as well ...were curious about today´s Illinois Appellate Court ruling today that knocked Obama´s former Chief of Staff off the ballot for Mayor of Chicago ...with less than a month away.

Legal reporting in the US has sucked forever ...as far as I can remember ...and this case is no exception.  However, I read the text of the court´s ruling via Scribe.com on the Chicago News Cooperative´s site before it disappeared.  I have big problems believing that Emanuel won´t be the next "Man on Five" ...but this won´t be easy for him.

(Please to dig my interview with Mayor Daley ...on the floor of the Democratic National Convention in Denver '08)

The 2 to 1 appellate court decision spoke to some provisions in the state municipal code that might mean that keeping a rental property in the city ...might not be enough to qualify you for running for mayor.  The dissenting opinion, however, was scathing!

Always a splendid evening at Drinking Liberally Buenos Aires!  Come sit in with your fellow liberals of all parties and nationalites some Monday soon!  If you consider yourself a liberal, you´re among friends at Drinking Liberally.

Follow us on Facebook here ...and follow us on Twitter here.  See ya next Monday!
