La Nacion is reporting that Argentina is increasing the number of 100 peso notes imported from Brazil from one-hundred million notes ...to one-hundred sixty million.
With all those new bills floating around, you are bound to run across one.
But how to tell if you´ve just got a Brazilian?
Well, they don´t say "Hecho en Brasil" anywhere ...but the Argentine printed note has a red serial number that runs in a column down the left side of the bill ...and the Brazilian printed one has a black serial running horizontally across the bottom of the left side.
I also noticed that the Brazilian hundy is about 1mm shorter. Hmm.
Thanks to Fred of Silver Star Car for showing me one at Drinking Liberally last night!

Ok, I think if I saw a Brazilian one, I'd think it was fake. I'm glad to hear there will be more notes in circulation, but it's probably not smart to have two standards in a place where fake money is not uncommon.
They say the paper is the same ...but the Brazilian ones seem a little flimsy. They probably had problems with them in ATMs.
I have some from my ATM. No problems.
