Tuesday, September 22nd, 7-9pm

It's official. IMAS will hold its first seminar on how to get legal residency in Argentina.

The fine folks at areatres have donated facilities and Expat Connection is promoting to their followers too.

There aren't too many other topics higher-up on the list for people that have come to Buenos Aires for more than a short stay. This first of many planned workshops on DNI and getting legal will be conducted by Argentine immigration lawyer, Solange Veron, and will concentrate on "do-it-yourselfers" but should be pretty damned helpful to those are doing it with a lawyer or are thinking about it.

Ms. Veron has worked in government here, both city and national for 10 years. She's got an activist bent and has helped yanquis obtain their legal residency before. Should be interesting and informative.

This first session will deal with the topic in the most general terms possible. That should give everyone a chance to bring their own experiences, plans, problems and questions ...and get some information. A goodly amount of time will be devoted a question and answer period where nothing DNI/legal residency will be considered off-base.

I'll be there and after the show I'll adjourn to some comfy confines nearby ...where I'd love to hear what you thought about it.

Free and open to the public.

Mike, perhaps in the interest of sharing this information with the broader expat community, you would be willing to post a transcript or video of the presentation for those of us living outside the capital?

The IMAS idea is to combine everything into a WIKI at their website. We'll have to see how that develops. As to a video of the conference, I don't think there's any set-up for that.
