Yep. More than 10,000 foreigners in Buenos Aires will cast votes for city offices. If you have a DNI and you have registered at the Tribunal Superior de Justicia, Cerrito 760, you can vote even if you're not a citizen. I seem to remember that you can't register until 2 years after you receive your DNI.
It's in the city constitution and is a centuries old tradition here in town.
If you live in Comuna 1, I just might see you at Av. de Mayo 757!

Darn! I could have voted in this election! Oh well, will go register on Monday and get that squared away. I'm exited about voting, as there is a new City Libertarian party forming here http://partidoliberal.tk/
so that's pretty cool. Mike, I qualify for Argentine citizenship, wondering about the pros and cons. Would love to have that 2nd passport, and nail things down, and be able to vote in national elections.
Couldn't believe there is no alcohol sales the night before and the day of election here.

I went down today and tried to register, and they wouldn't do it. They told me the law is 3 years are needed after getting the DNI. No matter, will be registered before th enext election anyway. Also at TAM airlines(Brazilian),they told me a VISA is still needed to enter Brazil for Americans that have Permanent Residency.

Very interesting. If some of this is due to recent changes ...I'd like to figure out a way to track them.
